Songfinch is one of the best-known custom song services in the US: you pick a musician, share your story, and they write and record an original song for you. This review is written by TuneWithLove, which also sells custom songs, so we have kept to what Songfinch publishes on its own website, read on 26 October 2026. We did not order a Songfinch song for this page, so you will not find a verdict on how its songs sound. What a Songfinch song costs
Songfinch says a custom song starts at $179.99. Each artist sets their own price, so the singer you choose decides the bill: the artists featured on its homepage on 26 October 2026 ranged from $179 to $1,099, most of them between $180 and $300.
Extras are sold separately in its store. A Voice Recording, your own spoken message in the song, is $29.99, and a Personalized Music Video is $19.99. Spotify streaming is $49.99, an extra verse starts at $59.99 and the instrumental version is $19.99. Keepsakes shipped within the US include a metal QR plaque at $49.99 and a 7-inch vinyl at $59.99. A song from $179.99 with a voice recording and a video comes to $229.97.
How long Songfinch takes
Its standard turnaround is 7 days. If you are in a hurry, rush delivery can turn your story into a song in as little as 24 hours. That works for a birthday later this week; for a gift you need tonight, it does not.
Edits and changes
You review draft lyrics with your artist, give feedback and can message them at any time. After that, changes go through what Songfinch calls a Change Request: you describe what you want and name the amount you would like to offer the artist for their time.
Requests that differ from your original order cost extra, for example a different tempo, a song re-recorded from another point of view, or a new song by another artist. Some changes are not offered at all, including new instrumentation, melodies or notes sung differently, lines added or removed in the middle of a verse or chorus, and a re-recording after you fully rewrite the lyrics.
Refunds
This is the term to read before you order. Songfinch’s published terms say that for an original custom song, cancellations and refunds are strictly prohibited once the artist you requested accepts the order, and all sales are final. If Songfinch cannot fulfill your order because the artist is unavailable, you get a full refund or the same amount in site credit.
Is Songfinch legit?
Yes. Songfinch has been making custom songs since 2016 and has a support team in Chicago that answers seven days a week. It says it has made more than 400,000 songs with more than 1,500 musicians, paying them over 40 million dollars, and that it has more than 25,000 verified five-star reviews across Google, Trustpilot, The Knot and other sites. Those figures are its own; we have not checked them.
Songfinch vs Songlorious
Songlorious is the other well-known US service where you choose an artist voice for your song. On the terms it published when we last read them (2 October 2026, and 30 September for its price), it starts at $180, priced by length, with free 4-day delivery or a next-day option. You read the finished lyrics and can change any line before anything is recorded, and you can supply your own lyrics. It also has a Spanish-language version of its site.

When TuneWithLove fits better
Songfinch is the better choice if you want to choose a named musician, enjoy a back-and-forth with them and can wait a week.
